When I read this quote from one of my favourite authors, Alice Hoffman, I marveled at how her words produced a shift in my perspective. It made me realise the perpetual trap that perception creates, one that I fall into again and again, that life, and people, are the way I see them. This causes somnambulance, it causes unconsciousness, and it can keep many treasures hidden from view. Her words made me want to wake up again.
