Finding courage is a practice and thankfully it doesn’t require the absence of fear.
The more we practice challenging our assumptions, the easier it is to spot them and remove them when they are blocking clear communication. It’s a practice of noticing what you are assuming that holds you back: from reaching out, from sharing, from saying what you want, or need, or what concerns you. When we do this the likelihood is that we will discover inaccuracies in our assumption, and in the very act of asking and checking we will be fostering connection.
