Trisha Lord

If you connect with the Thinking Environment through one of the “entry” programmes: The Thinking Partnership and/or The Foundation Course, and you find your Self reflected in what you learn, you may decide to aim for mastery.

Mastery is a beautiful thing.  Malcolm Gladwell’s research suggested that it takes 10,000 hours.  I worked that out to be around three years of working hours.  And that for you to achieve mastery, you needed to be using every one of those hours to be dedicated to the practice of whatever you are wanting to master.

I have been teaching and learning the Thinking Environment for 14 years now, and from that, I have had one clear realisation.  The fourth learning step of Unconscious Competence might not be applicable to being a practitioner of the Thinking Environment.  This might require Conscious Competence always.  It is that level of mastery!  The mastery of being awake to how I am being towards myself and others, the mastery of staying conscious about that.  But it is a mastery worth living for, and the fruits of the labour are so worth it.  So very worth it.
